  1. I have the 16x9 selection in the video settings chosen. Whenever I play a video that is 16x9 it plays it as if it's a 4x3 strech. Is there a fix for this?

yeah.. that is only for tvs that are 16:9 if you have a standard tv IE 4:3 then set the dvd player to either 4:3 P/S or 4:3 L/b i would recomend 4:3 L/b for 16:9 movies.. regular F/S movies will then play correctly

  4. I have a similar question... I have a widescreen HDTV set, and am about to get this dvd player. How will it handle 16:9 aspect ratio avi files? Will it display it correctly on my HDTV as if it's an anamorphic dvd, or will it display it as letterboxed 4:3 and thus look vertically squished on my set?

  5. It will display as 4x3 and look squished on your 16x9... you will have to adjust the aspect on your TV
