Hi all.
I was wondering if anyone could help.
I'm looking for info on how well various markets did, like dvd players and recorders and stuff like that.
Where would I find something like that? I tried to google it, but my search parameters were just way off or something.
Anyone know if there are free ones?
Anyway, thanks.
Love the website!

Gartner Group is always a good start in google
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Gartner+dvd+players+and+recorders&btnG=Google+Search
Gartner charges for info but much of the data is referenced in media and business reports.
You can also search the Gartner Dataquest site directly
http://www3.gartner.com/
Here is a technique to mine data
Google something like "DVD Market Share Data"
up comes something like this http://www.jonpeddie.com/special/DVDmarket.shtml problem is, it costs $2,495
so then you google "Jon Peddie Research 2004 DVD share" and get things like this
http://www.panasonic.com/industrial/computer/storage/dvdram/new/press/pr93.htm
http://www.itfacts.biz/index.php?id=P1319
and then use those links to get more
... and you get gems like this
"
DVD recorder prices to fall down 50%
The average selling price of DVD recorders is expected to fall by as much as 50% later in 2004 as Taiwanese shipments of DVD recorders increase sharply, a government-backed market research firm in Taipei says.
