for my win98 system. I know you cant watch images over like 3 gigs or something on a fat32 system, but would I be able to burn a 4 gig image and play it on my standalone or dvdrom? Because when Im in windows explorer, and I highlight a 4 gig file, it would say "Size: -24248320 bytes", but if I click on its properties, it'll say 3.97GB.

Fat32 doesn't handle files (any kind) > 4GB. Under 4 GB, you should be able to do anything with them. So, yes, you should be able to write it to DVD.
