  1. Hi, can anyone please recommend me a proper codec to encode DivX? It's getting frustrating with lot's of jerks and freeze on the experiment using 640X480 resolution and bitrate around 2000kbps. I know this high quality encoding can be played on my PC smoothly bacause I tested a downloaded DivX which is similar to this quality (just wondered how this guy managed to do it), but can't seem to encode it right following the example. I just want 640X480 and I'm getting very tired of it, please help!

    I use:
    Duron 1GHz, 256MB
    Windows XP
DivX 5.21 codec and nothing else!
    Multipass 1stpass, Multipass Nth Pass
    Resolution: 640X480
    Bitrate: 2000kbps

    Thanks!

  2. Ok it's those jap's idol DVD 29.971 frames and Region 2 NTSC. Mine is a Region 3 southeast asia drive. When running AnyDVD it says couldn't crack all keys on it and on close look at the DVD playback I can see a little jerk but the viewing motion is still reasonable. So the maximum I can encode is at 512X384 resolution regardless of bitrate, and anything higher casues freeze, slow motion or jerks. Another thing I notice is only Win2k and XP can handles this resolution but strange not on ME??

Is it jerky when you paly it on the computer or the TV? Also, have you considered autogk to encode? Or fairuse?

  4. I don't have a stanalone DVD player so all I do is use AnyDVD to remove the protection and make my drive readable. As I said before not all keys are crackable, so the software only say it just have to guess the right key. No problem, the slight jerkiness is still reasonable.

  5. Hi mats, tried that method too and even ripped an ISO out of it, but using CloneDVD3 like what you said: decrypt to HD and then rip. Well I still get the same thing. Unfortunately I don't have a DVD burner, if not I would be happy to burn and send to anyone willing to help me, and can get to watch it for free (a very cute racequeen DVD). Maybe worth to give that DVDDecrypter a try.

Hey any idol DVD rippers out there?
