I just spent well over an hour using the search and reading faqs here and elsewhere and can't find info telling how to change burn speed from 8x to 4x.
Got some of the dreaded CMC 8x and so far out of 11 discs 3 have been coasters so thought I would try them at 4x.

  2. On the last screen before burning, there is a selection for burn options, I think. It's the last button of the four on the right, including drive to write to, volume name, etc. Click on that, and select the speed you want. Mine always defaults to max, and I lower it to get it to work.

I guess I asked the wrong question since I normally use DVDShrink.
I'm really new at this so any help is appreciated.

  5. DvdShrink as such dosent burn disks it relies on Nero or dvd dycripter to do it.... Proberly better just to let shrink output the files as either iso or Video_Ts folder and use something else to burn.
In nero its the next ot last screen where you can change speed and its the same in dvd dycripter you can alter it from max to what ever you need.

    If in doubt, Google it.
