Think it would be better to time it when and where a convention is taking place. Comdex, CES, Infocomm, NANOG ... etc

CES is in January and I've got my tickets reserved. (Thanks Stilt) It's here in Vegas and it's probably the best place for a convention like that to be held. Especially for this happy & horny crowd. It's also one of the cheapest places to fly into and stay (depending on the hotel & room you're at). Plus tons of convention halls that are cheap and can be booked quick and easily. There might even be a chapel that will allow Cap to have a sacred union to Dolly. J/K If one were to happen, I'd say Vegas.

Put some type of computer/home and garden show in there and that will help. Then add free alcohol and gambling....I'm there!

Gonna be there too. Last year, crowds were huge, so get there early or have someone drop you off, like I mentioned before. In case you forgot, be sure to go to the Creative Tech booth, they give nice t-shirts (you'll have to wait in line and listen to an audio presentation first). Then you spin a wheel and have a chance for an MP3 player or something even better. The default prize is the t-shirt. Most other mfgr's are cheap, you'll get pens, puzzles, chocolate, or the like. Once in a while, free blank CD-R's or something like that. Lots of free plastic/paper bags, that's the most common giveaway - they're everywhere. I bring a rolling carry-on suitcase and load it with all the crap. If I had to carry the stuff all day, my arms would fall off

Oh yeah, last year GoVideo was giving away lots of free DVD/VHS combos, you have to sit thru the sales pitch, throw your business card in a jar, at the end they pull one winner. This happens ever 15 - 20 minutes or so, and if you want, and have lots of business cards, you could keep sitting there and putting in a card at the beginning of each presentation and eventually your odds of winning are pretty good. Most of their presentations have only 10 - 20 people, so it's a pretty good chance. I ran out of cards last year before I got to their booth so I only sat thru one presentation and didn't win. This year I'll bring more cards.
