Hello everyone.
Am finding video help an extremely useful tool. Thanks to posts by Jimmalenko, Bazooka and Fulci Lives. Endless hours saved after reading their guides. Have just converted an AVI file to MPEG and AC3 using TEMPGEnc and ffmpeg GUI. Three questions:
File size went from 700mg to 4.2G.... Why?
Am I ready to burn to DVD?
I heard you could put multiple movies on one DVD... Is this possible?
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.

Hi therakus,
Great site eh?
Filesize - The size of the source and the end file aren't related. The end file is purely a product of running time in seconds and bitrate used.
Ready to burn - Very nearly. You need to author your MPEG(s) and AC3 files to get VOBs, IFOs and BUP files in a VIDEO_TS folder accompanied by an empty AUDIO_TS folder.
TMPGEnc DVD Author is a good place to start, and it burns when it's done authoring.
Multiple movies - Yes. Each one in its own track. Don't expect great quality if they are feature length movies.
No problem. There is some corner of a foreign field that is forever England: Telstra Stadium, Sydney, 22/11/2003.
Carpe diem.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room.
