Sorry for the ambiguous nature of the title, but I am!!
I have been using DVDit LE for about 2 years now with no real problems, other than those that the program causes!!
But, last week I decided to upgrade the product from 2.5, to full version 5, online. So from within the program, I followed the link for upgrades to the appropriate area on the website, and paid £120 of my money.
I downloaded the program, received the authentication code, and started to install the upgrade.
After a matter of minutes, the upgrade stopped, and flashed the following message on the screen:
this pogram does not support the operating system detected
Then nothing, chucked me out and thats it! Now I have been using DVDit LE 2.5 on my Windows 2000 Prof for nearly 2 years, no problems.
So I lodged a query with the technical support on their website. I have heard absolutely nothing for a week now. I have tried to contact them 3 times via other email addresses, and have received nothing, no replies, not even a confirmation!
Basically, I'm not really sure what to do now as I have spent £120 on something that I cannot use, and seemingly have no recourse...
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatfully received...

From their web site:
This version of DVDit supports:
Windows XP Home
Windows XP Professional
Windows XP Media Center Edition -
yes, I did retrospectively see that as well, but only after going into their site and looking for system requirements.
unfortunately, when you choose upgrade from within the program, you don't get told any of that, it takes you straight in and to the upgrade button.
Also, you would think that if 2.5 worked on 2000 prof' for over 2 years, surely the 'upgrade' would support it...
Anyway, had an email from sonic this morning apologising for the no action, and saying they would be following it up straight away.. we will see."Well, either side could win it, or it could be a draw."

Just a quick update for you all:
Sonic version 5 does not support Win 2000 Prof.
So even though the upgrade from within the program, Ver 2.5, that I currently use, takes you quite happily to the Ver 5 upgrade, it doesn't work..
So, I will post this question here and see what response I get:
What software is best for DVD authoring on Windows 2000 Prof??
Thanks..."Well, either side could win it, or it could be a draw."

I've successfully used Ulead DVD Movie Factory in Win2K Pro and WinXP SP 1&2
IMO the most reliable app for authoring. I've heard good things about TMPGEnc DVD Author too, but I've never tried it.
