After extensive research on this site, I am leaning toward the JVC DR-M10 DVD recorder. My final criteria are as follows:
1. The FR (flexible recording) feature is very appealing to me, to be alble to get max bitrate (& therefore max quality) by customizing to the length of the program to be taped (do I have this right?)
2. A recorder that will control my channel switching with IR blaster (cable box control).
3. Ability to easily transfer VHS tapes from my just-purchased (eBay) JVC HR-S7600U, in case I allow you guys to frighten me away from doing it with my PC (ha ha).
Is the JVC my best choice, or is there a Panasonic, Sony or other machine which is better? Please hit me with any suggestions - thanks.
