i used 700MB CD-R and i want to overburn a 800MB+ movie on it...
if i used Nero 6, what should i check so Nero will accept overburning?
i already check Enable DAO overburning in the Expert Feature in Nero but it won't burn...still get the message that i should use a CD-R with higher capacity.
Is it true that using OverBurn will shorten the life span of your CD Burner? i heard this from someone i don't know if it is true or not...
I also have Alcohol120, does this also support overburning?
I want to add maybe a blank mpg1 to my movies so that it will exceed the 700MB limitation and my VCD will not be easily copied by casual user....any site where can i download a blank mpg1 that i can add to my existing movies so that it will exceed 700MB?

I never saw any truth to that rumor "overburning hurts the drive". At least not on most modern drives.

Author with VCDEasy - and either burn with VCDEasy or just let it create the cue/bin, then burn this with anything, like Nero. But beware that it's not that much more than 800 MB - it depends on media/drive. For serious overburning, get 90 min CD-R!

so if it's in a cue/bin Nero will let me burn it even if its beyond 800 MB?
I just want it a little more than 800MB so it will be difficult to copy for those who don't know how to overburn VCD....90min is not an option to me.hacking the Net using typewriter :D -
Nero should just burn it, but you might have to enable overburning.
For a lean mean free alternative, try burnatonce for your CD image writing (and reading) needs.

I burn films greater than 80mins all the time. One thing you should keep in mind though. If you burn more than 95 mins it will almost always result in errrors rendering the disc unplayable. Nero is fine for doing this, although you will have to use Disc-at-Once/96 and may even have to enable overburn in preferences. However, if you have never overburned before, beware:not every disc will work, even under 95 mins, but try again if this occurs as it seems to just be a luck of the draw thing.
