I had purchased in the past some ritek printable dvd-r's. They were matte finish but unfortunatly were not hub printable. Well this dvd's printed out beautifully but I didn't like how the clear hub would cut off certain dvd covers, so the next batch I looked for had to be hub printable. So I ended up buying a 50 pack of prodisc white hub printable 4x dvd-r's. I just opened one to print and saw that it's glossy on top. I tried to print to it and it came out with just tiny tiny dots of ink that sat on top of the disc and didn't even set in. there was no coverage at all on the disc just looked like a scattered drops here and there. Is there a certain setting that I use in epson print cd to print these? the printer said my black ink had less than 20% so i installed the replacement but when testing it printed the same way. It has to do with it being glossy I believe. any ideas?

Are you sure these were inkjet printable? Look like you have thermal printable.
-
Yes
now after checking they are thermal
no way I can print with them is there? God I hope so
my old lady fights so much about money she'll be pissed to hear that I can't print with them
I thought if i checked cd/dvd premium surface it would print to them but I dunno
damn it ! I was so excited that they said hub printable i didn't pay attention to thermal . the rest on the site are inkjet but not hub printable
thanks

Just a thought, I made the same mistake once..lol. I just used them and wrote on them with a sharpie. -
This is probably a stupid idea but if i lightly sanded the glossy part off the top could it be inkjet printable then?

Nick
Yes you are right, it probably is
Don't think thst would be a very good idea for a number of reasons.
Just my 2p FWIW
