Hello im quite good at scanning the face of a dvd and then taking the image to my R200 and making a very good backup!
My question is when i have a dvd that has the mirror finish on it how can i do those? They dont scan worth a crap.
Is there a way to lift the text off?
I see you can buy mirror print to hub dvds now?
Has anyone done this?
Please help

The DVD blanks you are talking about (mirror print to hub) are just for text and nothing else. They are called "thermal printable". You can't print graphics to mirror finishes.
I'm sorry, but I don't know the answer to your question about scanning. Good question though. -
Just a thought, but what about taking a photo of the disk with a digital camera?

Use the dvd cover art. To make it look anything but crappy: You'll have to have some photo editing ability. If you resort to lightscribe: scan the original in black & white and clean it up.

Try looking here for cover art: http://www.cdcovers.cc/covers
Lots of discs have shiny surfaces or just bland, blah text and for those discs there are usually "custom" versions in the list. -

I am working from memory here, but I seem to recall that the r200 is some kind of ink jet or something similar. That will NOT work on these discs! If I am wrong and the r200 is a thermal printer, then yes, it will work. It's your printer, so you can figure out whether it will work or not. -
If you need to print on a silver color DVD-R check to following link

this disk will work with your R-200 printer. You can print inages and/or text.
