    My relative picked up a samsung DVD-P548K from Asia. When we tried to use it to play DVD here in the U.S. we got only black and white scrolling on the screen. We were informed that the machine only play / output PAL. If so what are my options. Is there any way that I can use the machine or it needs to be brought back to Asia?

    If you're planning on buying all your dvds, you can go thru the hassle of ripping and converting them.

    If you ever plan to rent one, then you're out of luck. I'd say send it back.
