  1. I opened a movie in DVD Shrink a few days ago and in full disc the movie size was 2900 megs, when I went to re-athor to do just the movie it showed the movie as 5400 megs. Why the difference? There was only one version of the movie not two.

    You are seeing the after compression estimates. If the disk has a lot of extras, then the movie has to be compressed more, making it smaller. When you reauthor and take just the movie only, you don't need to compress it as much, and so it appears bigger. In the mpeg world, bigger is better (up to a point).

    If it is showing 5400, check the preferences to see what size the target disk size is. 5400 is too big to fit on a single sided disk.
