It is a 50 pack.... Wondering if the Taiwan is any good? Not sure I havent checked, but will go tomorrow to check on. Because my friend got a 25 pack of Verbatim Movie Reel 4x and had the media code of MCC. And had no problems. The Movie Reel were " Made in Taiwan". I thought MCC was 1st class and very good. But MCC Media ID on Taiwan made?

"What It Do"
Huh ????? -
Most Verbatim/Mitsubishi media is made in Taiwan by either Prodisc or CMC these days. Frankly I've had better success with the 8x +R spindles than the 8x -R ones.

Mitsubishi uses Prodisc and CMC to manufacture its own discs, but when doing so they use the Mitsubishi dye and stampers. So just think of them as MCC made by CMC or MCC made by Prodisc.

the quality should be the same, but who knows.
anyway, there is no option, right ? I preffer Maxell and Sony, made by Ricoh -
You can get Prodiscs from Rima for that price, I have never had any problems with them, used hundreds.

MCC made by CMC is better than regular CMC. However the MCC made in Singapore at the MCC plant are better than those made in Taiwan by Prodisc or CMC (but those are very hard to find these days).

Let's keep it simple: MCC is good media. Period.
In the early days, Mitsubishi had Singapore plants that made MCC. They then moved the operation to Taiwan. Same materials, etc. Still good. Prodisc now has MCC media too, but the exact details on it are not that widely known (materials, stampers, etc). At any rate, it's still sold as "Prodisc" to date. Prodisc is still decent media.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Well technically MCC is still producing media at the Singapore plant (mostly Dual Layer I believe) and there is MCC made by Prodisc sold under the Verbatim/Mitsubishi labels (I have a spindle of DigitalMovie +Rs that were made by Prodisc).

I was under the impression all DVD5 write-once was cleared out, and they're now just making rewritable and next-gen media (DL).

Some MCC004 (16x) made in Singapore has shown up in the European packaging.
