I am doing a project for a friend that has 30 pictures (drawings) in 4 catagories.

So I need to create a home page, and 4 other pages with 30 other 8.5 X 11 pictures.

Since I have done loads of DVDs, and encoded with tons of various encoders, a simple but deluxe CD-ROM should be a walk in the park huh?

I use Nero Ultra Edition for burning. Any suggestions for setting up the layout for this? I already have the pictures scanned in 600dpi bitmap, all ready for jpeg conversion. Just need to know what is a good program to do the setup here.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jeff

It's unclear (to me) what you want to do here - is it for DVD player use, or computer only?
If it's computer only, some HTML based system will do the trick. Use some simple HTML editor like FrontPage to build the structure and pages.

Unclear, I want to do a nice CD-ROM for a friend to be played in CD-ROM player. NO DVD here, CD-ROM as I said.

I do have an older version of Front Page and a book or two. So that may be the answer I needed. Thanks for replying.

So Front Page to make a CD-ROM, not website right?

i think what he was asking was if you were only going to use the CD you create on a PC, not a DVD player.

if so what you're trying to accomplish isnt really video related, its more html related.. since you'll be creating web pages with pictures in them.

No, Frontpage to create the "web site". When you're finished, you can put it on anything that can store data, including a CD-R.

I have had the Front Page book out for 30 min. no mention of CD-Rom there.

Is there away to skip the web site and just do a rom? Any software that is known to be easy?

You're trying to get a grip on the wrong end of the stick. You should be more concerned with what you want to do (and how to do that), not what media to put it on after you're finished. I'm sure FrontPage doesn't mention CD-ROM, as it's intended for the creation of web sites, but a "web site" can be put on a CD once you've created it, as easily as publishing it to a web server (as long as you refrain from using web server functions).

Thanks, I will go that route as I need to learn it anyway.

I have Front Page 2000 and a good book so I should have no problem, as I am fairly bright!

  10. What you want is a multimedia authoring tool that can create standalone programmes that run on a CD ROM. Like this one:
