Here's a question someone has asked me that I hope you may know the answer to - I've captured some video to .avi file, The VHS original is UK PAL format. If I then encode this to mpg in both PAL and NTSC format, are they the same quality video mpg files? Or, like when you copy PAL to NTSC in Analogue format, does the output in the US format have a lesser quality? I've noticed that NTSC DVD's I've done play slightly blockier on the TV and PC than the PAL one's I have done based on the same original .avi files, but I don't know if thats down to the screens being PAL, UK format? Any comments much appreciated!
