Hello All, I installed the Pinnacle DV500+ Capture setup about 2 and a half years ago and it's worked FLAWLESSLY until a few days ago. I use Adobe Premier 6 to do the captures. Vegas 5 for Editing and Rendering.

After capturing a 45 minute VHS movie I loaded the uncompressed avi file into Vegas 5. While looking at the file on the timeline(still in uncompres-sed format), I noticed that the audio was Out-Of Sync ...!

Audio is O.K. at the start of the file, but quickly goes out-of-sync. By the time the end of the movie is reached it's off by 5 seconds. I tried a second test capture tonight and the same thing happened.... Goes quickly out-of-sync - off by 5 seconds towards the end of the movie. Re-did the capture using a different VHS player with the same results.

So... Is the DV500+ ready for the scrap heap?????

Can the DV500+ be repaired???? I don't think it's supported any more by Pinnacle...!

And... For a replacement, should I get the Canopus ACE DV io / or go for the DV Storm 2???

    Regards.... Doc_B

Hello Group, Just some additional information....

I did another test capture of an 80 minute movie - this time using Scenalyzer instead of Adobe Premier 6.0 - and the movie was totally in-sync - perfect...! So... what's happened to Adobe Premier???????

I also wanted to do a test capture using Vegas 5.0 but it won't see the DV500+ - I used the OPTIONS | PREFERENCES | and used the device control to hilite the OHCI Compliant capture device, but it still says 'device unavailable' anyone know what to do... to get Vegas 5 to see the device!!!

    Thanks all who respond...!
