The controls would be outside, lot of those cranes have even have attached(corded) remote controls.

    This would be him:

I constantly have to tell people to get away from truck. When your lifting 18,000 pouds 15 feet off the ground standing next to it is not a good place to be unless you have to be there. I've even had people get their kids and bring them up close, one even stuck his head between the scissors once. Instant death if anything goes wrong.

The people standing next to the lift are lucky, there's so many things that go wrong when your dealing with heavy machinery and lifting. Obviously the spectators nor the crew operating the cranes learned there lesson the first time if you look at the last 3 shots. That's just dumb.

the fork lift thing -- is actually more stable than what you might think at first .. as long as the one on the floor is not over loaded in anyway ..

    Let me ask my wife....

That forklift pic is at least 2 years old... I've had it hanging in my cubicle at work for that long... the safety manager loves it. When I first hung it up 2 years ago, she thought I took that shot out on the warehouse floor here in our facility - I had to point out to her that we do not use forklifts with that kind of lifting capacity here, so it could not possibly be here....
