  1. Hi,

Probably u all may think I'm asking some stupid questions. But I really wan to know the answer. As I asked some of my friends, some say no & some say yes.

The Question is: If I am to rip a DVD file & convert it to avi or mpg for viewing, does it still consider as a DVD file(MPEG2)?

    Thank You.

Don't worry, this is a VCD help forum. Although this is a very newbie question, that you could easy get answered reading the "how to.." and "what is.." sections, there are no stupid questions at all.
DVD containes MPEG-2. If you want to make a VCD, convert it to MPEG-1 @ fixed specs, SVCD requires MPEG-2 (like DVD, but lower resolution and bitrates), XVCD is off specs, avi is a complete different format, only playable on comp. All these formats are different from DVD MPEG-2.
