  1. Hi everyone. I currently want to purchase a dvd that only comes in PAL format. I live in the US and want to convert the DVD to NTSC format. Here are my questions...

When using a DVD in a DVD-ROM drive on a computer do I need to be concerned with any region codes that the dvd is limited to or do computers ignore that?

If I use something like DVD Decryptor to extract the dvd onto my hard drive will it automatically know the format the dvd is in or do I need to specify it in Options somewhere in the program?

I own TMPEG... is converting the dvd to NTSC simply a matter of changing from whatever size PAL is in over to 720x480 and then writing a new dvd?

I just want to make sure before I go and purchase the dvd and find out I wasted my money. Thanks for any help and/or advice you can give me on top of the questions I've asked here. I just want to do this right the first time through.

You might also have noticed, on the far left, a vertical menu bar. One of the headings is "How To". If you click on the option under this marked "Convert", you will get a list of guides, including the ones you seek.
