    There was a small article in the computing section of a british news paper which stated that 'ahead' are to manufacture/sell a chip to dvd player manufacturers that will allow their players to play nero recode discs. The angle of the story was that british consumers will in the future make an immense saving as entire movies will fit on cd's.

    1cd = 10p 1dvd=30p
    1dvd =7cdr ergo no saving whatsoever

    What Ahead are pushing is that a mpeg-4 recoded DVD will fit on a single CD. Remember, Recode doesn't just shrink DVDs to DVDs

    If they are using equivalent numbers for comparison then 1 DVD disc will hold 6 movies compressed with the Ahead Nero recode format. Divx/xvid/mpeg4 players already exist that do the same thing but hey I say, the more the merrier.
