Hello, peeps!
I've connected my VCR to my TV-card (which is Pinnacle PCTV Pro) through the composite "hole". The program I'm using to capture video is PCTV Vision, which I got with the card. Anyway, I'm trying to record a trailer off the Face/Off VHS (PAL), but when I hit the record button the video goes all crazy and "mixes" with different scenes. Here's a video to illustrate just what I mean by that.
http://www.jbfans.com/temp/trailerVCD.mpg (8 megabytes, VCD)
After about 20 seconds the video goes back to normal (as you can see in the example I've provided), but it doesn't always do that. I've noticed differences when I record to DVD format and VCD/SVCD format. This is recorded in DVD (I just converted it to VCD so the file wouldn't be too big and you guys could watch it), but when I record to VCD/SVCD the video doesn't flicker like that at all, instead the video speeds up, like someone hit the fast-forward button.
These are the settings I have in the PCTV Vision program:
The system I am using is:
Windows XP Home Edition
AMD Athlon XP 2400+ (1.99 GHZ)
1024 MB in memory
GeForce FX 5200 128 MB
75,5 GB harddrive
Pinnacle PCTV Pro card
So, can anyone tell me what the hell I am doing wrong here?
UPDATE!
I've also noticed that the video flickers sometimes even when I'm just playing the video.
