  1. Hi, one and all,

Captured a clip from my dv by WinDv, then I use Tmpg compress it to DVD, try to open with Vdub, got a error message " no video frames found in mpeg file" but the files play back ok by real player or windows media player. Do u know what's the reason for this?

Also, when play the .avi file captured by WinDV, it seems VDub is in a slow mode. Like you pressed "slow play'' button on a VCR, but I have a 320x240 .avi file played in normal speed in Vdub

What happed there Do I need to setup something in VDub?
    Newbie is looking for help.

You will need to either get the MPEG2 plugin for the standard VirtualDub, or use VirtualDubMpeg2 or use VirtualDubMod to be able to open MPEG2 files.

For playback, it depends on the attributes of the AVI and the power of your PC. If when playing back, the output screen (the right side) is playing then the video is passing through the Vdub video processing system as if it was rendering so it will need lots of system resources and will slow down, especially if it is a high-resolution, low resolution will probably keep-up and not slow down.

Have a look at your CPU usage while the AVI is playing back in Vdub, it's probably sitting on 100% and still needs more.
