My success rate (last 9 months) with TDK CMC MAG has been 100% burning at double the rated speed (Plextor drives). I know nomorecoasters.com lists all CMC as landfill but I have yet to have a failure in over 200 burns using TDK CMC. Think I'll just stick with my own experience.

  7. I've burned about 100 CMC +Rs, 2.4x, 4x, and 8x media codes, with no problems at all. I bought one pack of -R CMC media and the results were not so hot, but for +R I think they are fine.

  8. Yup I stocked up, Media code = CMC MAG E01

But they have worked in the past for me... They also have (Best Buy) Memorex 50pk @$39.99 buy 1 get 1 free, 50 pack Cd-r $19.99 buy 1 get 1 free.

    Cheers

ttgo2 is it a good media id? 1st class of 2nd class? No problems beyond the
    4GB barrier?

    Made in Japan?

    SONY DVD+R is D11
    SONY DVD-R is SONY08 D1

I read at cdrlabs the SONY DVD+RW is made in Japan which is supposedly good media. They are also on sale at COMPUSA $19.99 for a 25 pack.

  18. I bought a pack of TDK 8X -R (Media Code TTG02) from BB last night, and these are supposed to be on Plextor 712A's recommended media list.

Four tries, all coasters. Thank God they were on sale.

    TDK-R 4X ID's as follows:
    Media Code: TTG01
    Manufacturer: TDK Corp

This was a 25 pack - packaging says "Made In Taiwan"

    Something doesn't ring true here

media codes TTG01 & TTG02 are considered good to use. they burn flawlessly on my Plextor 708A & PIONEER 107D drives. if you want the best dvd media then purchase TAIYO YUDEN from RIMA.COM.

  22. I bought these from best buy also(the +R's).
The media code was CMC MAG E01.

Burned on NEC2500 at 8X and the media was OK, with acceptable PI/PIF, but a little on the high side.
    Burned on Sony500 at 4X & 2X and PI/PIF was a little concerning.

Not sure if drive was the issue or if this media just works better at higher speeds?

Burned 8 discs with no issues and no coasters though.

Frankly the results with TTG02 *were* better on the 812S than on the PX-712A. Same with my MCC02RG20 tests.
