  1. I have a divx file I want to convert to SVCD with Tmpgenc. When I follow the steps to extract the audio in Virtual Dub. I get the following error

"No audio decompressor could found to decompress the source audio format (source format tag:0055)"

Gspot states the audio is" 0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 3"

Any idea how to fix this?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Do you have lamemp3 installed??? You need a mp3 codec installed for it to work properly.

    Whoops, sorry - that's for AC3

  4. Thanks for the suggestion, but no luck. I installed Lame and AC3 and received the same error message. Also of note, on Gspot it says I have the audio codecs and I can play the file on windows media player. But can't rip audio on Virtualdub.

    any other suggestions?

    thanks

Did you reboot after installing the lame MP3 codec ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
