How do you improve MP3 quality? I have some MP3s that are really sharp, clear, and loud. But there's this one MP3 that sounds kind of solid and stuffed (not neccessarily muffled) and has a soft volume. In a way, it sounds kind of like mono (but it says it's stereo). I tried normalizing but it doesn't sound any different except that it got louder.

Rip/Copy original source material. Encode at higher bitrate.

I didn't rip it, my friend sent it to me. Oh well, I'll ask him to rip it again.
