  1. I just bought a Internal DVD burner for My PC, it's a "Lite-On SOHW-1633s". I wanted to Back-Up one of the DVD's I own. The Burner, came with some Blank DVD's. The company said that this burner, works best with DVD+R type disc, which came with it. The Program I used to burn, is called "CD/DVD burnR Deluxe". The ripping, and burning of the disc went fine. The disc played in my pc, with no problem, but when I tried to play it, in 3 Different DVD Players, it wouldn't play. The brand of Disc, is one I hadn't heard of, from Japan called "Taiyo Yuden". Is the reason for my problem, because of the disc, or should I switch to DVD-R type Disc? I used "DVD Shrink" To Burn The Disc. Thank in advance...

TAIYO YUDEN discs are the best to use, they're top quality discs. I would suggest you use another burner program like NERO BURN, use DVD SHRINK to compress. If you're going to use the latest DVD SHRINK it has NERO engine built in but you have to have NERO BURN installed on your computer. I would suggest you use DVD+RW discs to test out the burns you do so you won't be wasting time in burning coasters or discs that don't playback on your standalone dvd players.

Liteon dvd burners do tend to like DVD+R media than DVD-R. Check out the LITEON FORUM at CD.FREAKS.COM. They have loads of information for LITEON DVD burners.
