    Hello!

I have a MPEG file, which I'm using to create a DVD.

When this video on my computer, it's quite ok; however, after I put it on a DVD project and author it, it loses its sync!

    Can anybody help me, please?
    Best regards,
    Joelson.

A minor detail or two might help- like what type of mpeg file (1 or 2), what programs your using, whether the sync is out by the same amount throughout the video or if it changes.

    Hello!

It is MPEG-2, according to the TMPGEnc's definition below:

    DVD NTSC (MPEG-2 720x480 29,97fps CQ 65, Layer-2 48000Hz 384kbps)

It's strange the way it occurs. I've opened it in Windows Media Player, and it's just fine, but in VirtualDubMod the out of sync shows up...

I'm using Ulead DVD Moviefactory to author it.
    Best regards,
    Joelson.

You could try demultiplexing it and then editing it. You can use Demux, found here:

Let me know what you come up with.

VDub is not a very good player. Try a MPEG player like WMP to find out if it really has a synch problem.

I would then try it in a different player like Media Player Classic. It its still off maybe you should choose a different editor. A couple free ones are Movie Maker and Wax.

In my experience, to be honest, the only surefire way to see if you have a sync problem is to burn yourself a DVD and pop it in a player (this is why I keep a big stack of rewritables handy).

What was your source? If you never separated your audio from your video, there's no reason it should be out of sync. But as pointed out above, VDubMod is really not made for "viewing," and your audio may lag or stutter.

If you've already authored Vob files, you should be able to open a Vob with Media Player Classic and it should play correctly.

Something similiar to this is mentioned in the reviews for the Leadtek PVR2000 capture card. A freeqare app name PvaStrumento is mentioned as a possible solution to this. Check out the comments under the revies for the PVR2000

    Thanks for the answers.

In Windows Media Player, it plays fine.

And yes, I've already authored and burned a rewritable DVD. The problem DOES APPEAR in a desktop player.

What should I do, after demuxing? What treatment should I do to make it work in sync?
    Best regards,
    Joelson.
