dvd skips

i have a 4x dvd-r dvd burner........and i am using compusa dvd-r 1X.......i am using CloneDVD the latest version......2.4 (whatver it is)

when i am copying a dvd that is long.....it skipps around on the last couple of minutes.......

I used DVDShrink and i dont have this problem.........does anybody use the use the same type of burner and CDs......and have sucessful copies with a particular software and with a dvd that is over 3 hours

I am not sure if this is the problem but f.y.i. try not to burn to the max capicity of the blank dvd disc. That tends to give you jerky playback near the end of the video.

Hey,, could it possibly does great Comp USA Disks??? Skipping at the end of video = Crappy Media!

Solution = Get better media and don't create a file to the maximum capacity of your blank.

Yep. Crap media that has dye spread issues. Is the media ID by any chance Princo? They're notorious for that.

Bingo.

Ditch the Princo and get some Taiyo Yuden, Maxell, or other quality brand. Stay away from house "generic" brands because they tend to be rejects from other vendors or ultra-cheap Taiwan crap like Princo or CMC.

Take DVDShrink off automatic sizing and you can set it to any output size you want' For safety, limit it to 4.0GB and even Princo media will usually burn OK half the time
