I've got a Sony DVP-NS400D. I saw the two hacks listed in the DVD list. The second one (for the diagnostic menu) worked quite nicely. The first one, which I assume is to disable region encoding and (hopefully) macrovision. Has anyone had any luck getting this to work? The instructions are not very clear. For instance, there is not a channel up key. My TV has only one set of inputs, and I really want to run DVD through my VCR so I don't have to switch out cables.
Any and all help would be appreciated.

Well, I'm guessing that "hack" was a fake anyway, considering it asks you to scratch the lens. But I know that these players ARE sold modified, so it is possible. Again, any help would be great.
