  1. I just purchased this:

    http://www.hauppauge.com/pages/products/data_pvrusb2.html

wish I could say it works...because I put the cd-rom in to install it...and there is nothing on the disc...it can't be read, no matter what way I try to install it....so I thought something was wrong with my cd/dvd-r drive, so I tried some other software cd's and of course, they are fine...and I tried the cd in another computer and it's fine....

any idea why this would be? I find it extremely strange....

I do have Intervideo's WinDVR3 on my computer with adaptec's capture card already set up .... could that interfere with this? It didn't interfere with the last one....but who knows...any help would be appreciated.

I'm aware that I have another topic on the board as well, except that I took that product back and i'm on to a new one...for better quality reasons.

    wait, i'm sorry, could you be a little more descriptive....i'm a semi-beginner....lol....

I tried going to "Run" programs....and then of course I tried control panel..add new programs....

I just went into my computer and clicked on my cd-rom drive...and it's empty...yet the cd is there...I can't see any programs....

  4. I know this must be frustrating but:

I had a look at your previous posts and I can tell you now
that the chances of you being happy with your new unit compared
with the previous model is unlikely. USB is just not up to the
    job in real life.

I copied the files to a CD-R from the other computer and sure enough, it worked...must have been a defective cd is some way....oh well....problem solved, and the quality isn't near as bad as the other card...actually, I'm quite pleased.

As long as you have USB 2.0 ports on your PC you'll do just fine with that device.
