This morning I was heading over for my semi-annual budget meeting with our customers, who fund our projects.

As I was walking along, guess who I pass on the sidewalk. An astronaut who has been in space

I knew he worked here, and has been here since retiring from the astronaut corps years ago. He's an upper manager here now and he has spoken in the auditorium for "Take Our Sons To Work Day" which I have participated in along with my younger son. The rocket sled launches are always a favorite for those

But walking along the sidewalk ...... I realized what a cool place this is to work for. How many people can say they have someone like that at work? 8)

So do you think I should have said something "Capmaster-ish" like "Step aside space-boy ...we're on the ground now"?

By the way, I'm funded for another year at the same level Once I pointed out the error of their ways if they cut into my funding, and I have to cut back on my Videohelp time, they gave in

"Youre fired' comes to mind. He is an upper-level manager. Normally it's not done that way, but judging by who he is, he could probably get me tossed for saying that.

Judging by his sense of humor at the TOSTWD presentation, he would probably laugh, pat me on the back and say "good one". He's a really nice guy

BTW he was a shuttle astronaut. The Apollo guys would be already retired by now One of our US representatives for years was Harrison Schmitt - an Apollo astronaut who walked on the moon. 8)

If you see him again, ask him if he's ever gotten high or been spaced.
