  1. When I open dvd decrypter I do not see a disc to harddrive icon to click. Is it supposed to be on the front of my desktop?

    Thanks

  2. Go to the top of the program and change your mode under the 'mode' menu. Change it to 'file' or 'ISO read', depending on which you want. Is this what you meant?

  3. When I open dvd decrypter I do not see a disc to harddrive icon to click. Is it supposed to be on the front of my desktop?

    Thanks
You could also try DVD Shrink.

  4. I have already downloaded the DVDx. I am trying to burn movies to a CD-R using my CD BURNER and then play the disc in my DVD PLAYER.

    Thank

  5. I believe I'm now more confused than even you are...

  6. I was told that I needed the DVDx software to burn movies to CD using my CD BURNER. I have had some problems setting up the DECRYPTER to access VIDEO_TS in MY COMPUTER.

Steer me into the right direction so that I may burn the movies and play them in my DVD player.

    Thanks

according to this guide, DVDx rips for you as part of the package, so why use DVDDecrypter ?

Can you post a screen dump of what you see in DVDDecrypter ?

What you need to do is go to the Mode menu > File (or just press F):

Once you put your disc in, make sure that all files are highlighted and then this button will become enabled:

    If in doubt, Google it.

  8. I am following the guidelines to set up DVDx from:

    www.dvd-guide.com/guide.php?category=dvdrip&name=vcd

The problem occurs when I get to Step 2. I do not show VIDEO_TS in My Computer.

This is why I was referred to use DVD DECRYPTER.

@jarod1001, look at jimmalenko's second screenshot. Click the small envelope icon to the right of the Please Select A Folder prompt. Select or type in the folder you want the files to be copied.

Is it just me or does that link not work ???

    anyway ...

DO waht I said to do with the pictures and you should be OK. I'd say the guide you are following assumes that you have already ripped the DVD to your Hard Drive. Try this guide for ripping with DVDDecrypter, or this guide for ripping with smartripper.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Unless you have a dvd burner, you are wasting your time.

You might be able to make a mini dvd which is about ten minutes worth of video but not more.

Are you trying to make a svcd?

You cannot make a dvd with a cd burner.

    @bazooka:

DVDx takes DVD and converts it to SVCD or VCD or DivX.

He's trying to direct it to the VIDEO_TS folder as the source.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Thanks Jim.

I misunderstood what he was trying to do.

Why not just put the dvd in the dvd player?

Why make a svcd when you are just wanting to play the movie?
