How to re-link areas of a dvd? (PGC?)

I just finished backing up some dvd's but have run into two problems.

I've used dvd-remake to hide/remove unwanted material, but now when I load the video, get to the root menu and press play it re-locates itself BACK to main, and not proceed further - to the movie.

Also, I would like to know how to remove all the 'hidden' material so it does not scan for it at the beginning of the dvd, but have it immediately go to the menu?

I know it has to do with the links between the PGC's... but can't find any tools that would help.

Any linking PGC FAQ's websites would be great

Not sure but you might give ifoedit a try. It's pretty robust. A good place to start.
