  1. im getting a dvd burner soon and i want to know if i can take all my cdr movies in vcd formant and convert them to dvdr. will dvdr read vcd format? or will i have to convert all my crap over again?

    can someone tell me the best dvdr burning program (svcd/vcd/......)?

    depends on your dvd players. yes they can read as a vcd on a dvd. most the time the audio has to be converted to 48khz though. best program to help you out is gonna be tmpgenc dvd author

    VCD video is also DVD compliant - all you need to do is resample the audio from 44.1Khz to 48Khz, which any decent authoring program like TMPGEnc DVD Author will do for you automatically.

    Plenty of guides here.
