Okay, I want to burn *both* DVD video *and* data to a single DVD.
The data may contain long filenames, and I want those to be preserved.
I've looked over every DVD video burning guide on this site. Most say you can't use Joliet, but a few seem to suggest it's okay.
I just installed Nero 6.6, and it's DVD-Video template is for an ISO Level 2 compilation, with no relaxation of ISO restrictions and no Joliet. The option to allow Joliet is disabled, so I don't think this will work for me.
I've read in some cases that you can burn DVD-Video using the UDF/ISO bridge format. If you do this, which filesystem will the standalone DVD player use? I've read that it will read the UDF, but this doesn't make a lot of sense, since the default DVD-Video preset doesn't use UDF.
If a standalone DVD player will use the UDF for a bridge format disk, then that is great...what that tells me is that I can safely include Joliet on the ISO portion without messing up compatibility.
But now for the big question...if I use Nero's UDF/ISO format, will it burn the video files in the proper order on the DVD? I know that this is important (to prevent seeking glitches between VOB's, for instance), and I'm sure Nero is careful about this when using the DVD-Video preset. But will Nero recognize the video data (and burn it properly) if I choose UDF/ISO format?
Surely there are some people out there who burn both video and data to a single DVD?

I've never tried it, but I would think you could burn the data but leave the disk as a multisession disk. Then burn the VIDEO_TS folder and finalise the same as you would if the disk was empty when you started.

if you dont have recordnow max or prassi - in which this is easy , or nero 5.5 which also does it easy .... just use nero 6.x and as you guessed , burn a UDF/ISO bridge , making sure you use 1.02 UDF ..
nero does reorder the files correctly .."Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
In Nero, I always make a ROM folder in the root with AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. Then stick all stuff in there. Folders and all. Really easy stuff.
