I have some mpeg1 movies when I authorize it it doesn't authorize the whole file?
When I join the mpegs together it authorizes the whole file but I lose the audio the last 3/4 of the move

I use DVDLab to authorize. When I use mpeg2's in DVDLab it works fine, and I have used some mpeg1's in the past in DVDLab and it worked fine.

Is this because of the type of mpeg1?? or do I need to use a different authorizing program to do these movies??

    Help

Why dont you try using TMPG's MPG tools and do a merge & cut? Then try to author it in the program of your choice.

    BTW
Authorizing is like giving permission, or your consent.
You're tryin to author a DVD, not authorize it.

  4. Does your MPG file have the complete audio? If not, then something happened during the encoding.

then something happened during the encoding.
I never encoded the mpeg, I used the original file. It is in NTSC 352x240 29.97.

my mpeg has complete audio, I played it back in all different media players programs ie POWER DVD, WINAMP etc.

    The problem happens during authoring.

You said you joined the mpegs together before authoring. What tool did you use?

I used TMPGEnc Plus. After joining, the merged file worked fine. After authoring is when I had the problems explained above.

  8. I think you have definitely proven that the problem is with DVD-Lab so you should call the vendor and report this problem.

Why join? If they are part 1 & part 2 of the same movie, just author them as parts if the same title. It will be authored to DVD as one uninterrupted video.
Joining is always tricky business, and should be avoided if threre's a possibility to achieve what you want without it.

I have tried authoring it separately and the file were cut short, about half. For example if both files were 60min each, the end result is authored files at 30min.

Are there any authoring programs that author mpeg1 with ease??

  14. I've had problems like this before and the issue always seemed to be bad GOP time codes. Try using the rewrite time codes function in DVD-Lab on the movie clip that is causing issues.

Make a backup of it first because DVD-Lab will write directly to the file in question.

After you do that, remove the file from the assets and re-import the corrected one. See if that helps.
