I am using TMPEG to create a uncompressed AVI file from a DVD rip. The resulting file seems jumpy during panning scenes. I have tried saving it with the settings on both top field first and bottom field first. They both seem just as jumpy. What would be the cause?

Are you saving the avi in the same format (PAL versus NTSC) ?
Have you changed frame rate ?
Is your computer capable of playing an uncompressed avi file ? Many PC's struggle because of the amount of raw data that needs to shuttled from disk to screen when playing an uncompressed avi.Read my blog here.

Yes. I've kept it NTSC and the same frame rate. Maybe I need to encode a section to MPEG and see how that plays. I have a 1GH PC. Maybe the file is too much. I'll give that a try. Thanks!!
