is there any way to join 2 mpeg2 clips without the slight jump in dvd lab
put the 2 file in the separate movie files and joined them with the link draw connection so the file carries on after the first one finishes but u get the slight pause before the second one starts. any idea's

I think it depends on your player - I have made some DVDs like this and they move on to the next movie fine on one of my machines, but there is a distinct pause on another. Conversely, the "pause"machine will allow me to skip forward to the next movie (as if it was a chapter), but the "smooth" machine won't and the first clip has to finish before the second clip will play.
Why not join the clips with MPEG Wizard? If they are the same bitrate and resolution there is no re-encoding and it is a very quick process.

  3. Doing this doesn't actually join the clips, so you get that pause as it switches to the next track. If you encode AVIs to Mpeg2 yourself you should definitely do your editing before encoding. I use an avisynth script to tweak and open the files in virtualdub, then use vdub to edit out the parts I don't want and frameserve to TMPGenc. You end up with one seamless file that way.
I've also had great luck using TMPGenc's own MPEG tools to join clips together. Some people have sync issues here, but IMO that's usually due to a flaw in the MPGs themselves rather than the joining function of TMPGenc.
