I can never understand it when people ask how a product is AFTER they buy it.

Seems awfully expensive, I wouldn't have bought it, but then again, I'm waiting for DVD-R DL.

According to the item page on the left, it is some kind of NEC. Make sure to get GOOD and COMPATIBLE media. Then you will always be happy with your drive.

A real NEC 3500 sells for about $79. Opps, I meant $69.
the 3500 is not an external writer. If you got an external one it is not a NEC 3500.

No, it is an external drive. Still seems like a bad deal. Mad Dog stuff usually sells for very little not too long after release.
