  1. My problem is slightly different from everyone elses. I put the vcd in my computer drive and the dvd drive doesn't even recognize that there is a disk in the drive. It says, D: is not accessible, device not ready. ANybody have any idea why this is happening? I am running Windows 98. Thanks

How old is your DVD drive.

Do commerical CD's and DVD's work in it?

If it's old, it might be one of those that weren't built to read CD-R's.

I think the first were designed to be slaves with a CD-ROM being the master.

Presuming you can read the CD in a different drive (e.g. your burner) AND its not just a dirty CD, possible reasons could be:

Some older drives refuse to read particular media types.

Some drives refuse to read media which has been "overburned"

All you can do is try burning to a different cd-r brand and run the latest firmware patch on the suspect drive.

  4. My computer and my dvd drive are only about a year old. The VCD runs in other computers I have tried. Does anyone know how many regular cd-rs it takes for every one vcd cd? Are they the same, or will I be burning 10 cd's for one vcd disk?

  5. I got this problem after I turned off Auto-insert notification with CloneCD (then forgot to turn it back on).
