  1. Good Morning All...

I am having some problems with my video capture software. I am using ULead DVD Movie factory to capture video from my VCR in MPEG 2 format. When I go to view the files in my video folder I get a message that Windows Explorer needs to shut down (I'm using windows XP by the way) when I check the error message, the file in question is WER326tmp.tmp.dir00\appcompart.txt. Can anyone tell me what this file is exactly? I tried running antivirus and Spybot and nothing seems to work.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Try reinstalling ulead. Also, use another capture program to see if it continues.

  3. I had the same problem. It seems as if more than one software is trying to handle the *.mpg file format, thus crashing the system.
Anyway, after reformatting the HDD I decided that I was not going to re-install Ulead MF (worthless, IMHO) and the problem has never shown again.
    Hope it helps.

I have 3 different capture devices and all of them came bundled with Ulead software. MF2 and VS7

In MY opinion I think that they are very good programs, well suited to the aqverage consumer. There is not much that you can not do with this combination. Those that want or feel they need more for what ever reason are wecome to spend all they want.

    "WER326tmp.tmp.dir00\appcompart.txt"
I did a search on my xp home with MF2 installed but found no match.
Do you see the full path to where the location is?
That might provide a clue as what program it belongs to and if it would be safe to delete it

Ulead software allows you to set the directory for both the capture and for the working area. The file name you give does seem to be a video file of any format, so also douvt it is the actuall captured file
