  1. Ok It takes me a really long time to create my DVD's (from captrure to burn) Let me tell you how I do it.

    - I capture the video with my Dazzle DVC90 directly to MPEG2
    - I edit the files together with MPEG-VCR
    *Now at this point if I try to encode my files with TMPGEnc they go all choppy. By trial & error I figured out re-encoding them with another program works*
    - I encode with AVS video converter to re-make my .mpg file
    *This still will not work in my DVD author program (Adobe Encore DVD) the program want's me to "transcode" it.*
    -I convert to .m2v with TMPGEnc
    *still doesn't work in Encore*
    -convert to .mpv with MPEG-VCR

    Encore always wants me to transcode the files with them. The problem is it is very lengthy and the video quality sucks. Thats why I need to do all this or if not I get "not a valid mpeg" errors.

    It took me weeks and weeks to work out the problems with burning a DVD. This method seems to be the only one that actually burns the disc and works. Although I do get read errors on some of the disc I create with Encore. To check for that I use DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD .ISO to the computer. If it works I know the DVD works.

    Is this method to long?? Is there a better way?

  3. I can capture to MPEG2. I have burned those files to a DVD direcly before (no encoding) using a different authoring program. But it doesn't work with Encore for some reason.

    sounds like adobe encore dvd sucks. . does it say what 's wrong with the mpg? bitrate? frame size? or something ?

  5. nope, either it wants to transcode the files or if by some other way it allows the files to go on the dvd during the burn process i get an error saying "not a valid mpg". By using this lengthy method it works but I wish I could cut down the time.

  6. Why dont u capture to AVI. the file will be larger but it will be much easier to edit. Then output the file as an AVI after you're done editing. Then convert the file to MPEG2, calculating your bitrate so it fits on a DVD. Or, if your editing porgram supports it u can frame serve directly to your encodr. Then finally author the DVD. I use the following tools for this process and i always get great quality results:

    Capturing/Editing = Adobe Premiere 6.5
    Encoding = TMPGenc (or the built in encoder in Premiere)
    Authoring = DVDLab
    The distance between genius and insanity is measured only by success...
