  1. i have this writer with what i think is 1.0 firmware (what it had when i bought it anyway)

ive looked at various places but can find any specifc location for the latest firmware not even liteons site seems to have it

after owning this for a few months i have only just realise it can burn dvdr- at 8x where as i thought it only did 8x on dvd+

has anyone here used this writer with any hacked firmware that improves writing at 8x on dvd- disks as i have read all over that this writer sux at writing dvd-

hey ime i noob to this but i have looked through a place called vdr freaks i think it was but its kinda confusing to a noob as everyone seems to know what everything is and no real simple explinations

unless a thread says " get your updated firmwar for the liteon 832s to improve dvdr- recording " i wont be finding anything real soon lol

thanx for any help here i have just bought somne 8x datawrite red disks as teh 4x version 3 disks were damn good in my pioneer a05

I think there is a newer VSOB firmware for the 832 but didn't see it at the above site.

  3. I have an SOHW-812s flashed to an SOHW-832s, using patched firmware. I burned the one piece of DVD-R (RitekG04) that came with it just fine @4x. I've sinced flashed to CodeGuys latest (CG3B) & can burn MCC 01RG20 @8x consistently. Look here:

  4. I have a lite-on SOHW832 with the stock firmware and haven't had any problems burning either - or + at 8x. They seem to burn consistently well for me.
No, I'm from Iowa. I only work in outer space.

  5. Go here: http://www.liteonit.com/ODD/English/e_downloads/e_firmware_dvd%20rw.asp

Download the latest firmware(VS0B) and flash your drive.
    It should improve your writing.

    Or better yet download OmniPatcher:
    http://codeguys.rpc1.org/patchers.html

Just follow the instructions in the rar file.

  6. If your using +R then give CG3B a go as well. It's VS0B patched to improve +R burn quality. You can get it from my firmware page:
