  1. Hi, again,

Im trying to make a DVD disc from 2 *.bin files these files are SVCD images, i found that out by using isobuster, I then extracted the tracks form the *.bin files by using extract as video only option in isobuster , i now had 2 *.mpg files

i joined these teo files using the "mpeg tools" section of TMpgenc but upon examining thses files during playback i noticed yet again (this happened before) that the second section of the joined files was out of sync aud/vid. I then tried to re-encode the first file using the paldvd 16.9 option in tmpgenc and opted for mpeg 2 format. after the re-encode completed i played a preview in power dvd but the video was playing with a slight stop atart motion and didnt run smoothly at all. Im kind of lost now as to what to do next , I didnt know whter the mpegs i extracted from isobuster were ntsc or pal , so maybe that had something to do with it, is there a piece of software that can give that info? if so , what?
    any help?
    thanks Dosie.

Click on All Guides (the menu on your left). In the Format Conversion drop box, select SVCD to DVD. Now click the big button marked "Search or List Guides". You should get a list of 13 or so guides on how to do this successfully.

    Happy reading.

  3. Try DVDLAB PRO. It will convert audio to 48Khz but leave video at 480x480(svcd resolution)(so faster since no video encoding needed) It then Author and Burn as DVD. Most new DVD Standalone player should able to play it. And you dont have to join the 2 mpeg file, just drag and drop the 2 file into DVDLAB PRO, It will join the file for you when it author.
DVDLAB PRO is in BETA so it free for now....

Or you could use SVCD2DVD to do the conversion, as that's what it was designed for. If you take the files from Isobuster and drop them into AVIcodec, it should tell you the framerate and other useful info.

The best advice was from guns1inger. If you go to 'CONVERT' to the left and scroll down in 'Format Conversion'; to 'SVCD to DVD', you will see several methods, depending on what software you want to use.

Still Learning Here has obviously learned a lot. Right on the spot. And "don't join" is a good advice - 99.9 times out of 100, you just end up with sync probs. Avoid at all costs, specially when it's not necessary (like in this case).
