Hope your ready for this. Ive got a damaged dvd of family holidays. I can play back the section I want to retrieve on windvd (it doesnt ewant to play oo a normal home dvd player)
BUT how can i capture ithis section

Have you tried ripping the entire disc to your HDD ?

If your PC see's the disc and play's it odds are good you can get most if not all of it.

see if dvdshrink can read it.. if it can, you can 'reauthor' a new disc using only the parts you want

Plug your PCs video and audio out into a DVD recorder or capture card. I've used my Hauppauge PVR USB2 that way, even recording on my LapTops drive while it was acting as the source.
