1. Well Im dual booting windows 2000 and xp. I recently installed a new hard drive and installed a fresh copy of xp. When I turn on my computer it says:
Windows XP
Windows XP
Windows 2000
The second one doesnt work its for a hard drive that doesnt exist. How do I get rid of the 2 Windows XP option.
2. When I was installing xp for some reason it didnt install internet explorer. So no problem, I install Firefox and go download it from mircosoft site. But when I install it, it installs on my windows 2000 partion everytime(Cinstead of my xp partion.
3. How do I re-organize Drive letters, I've done so much playing around that my windows XP Partion is P: and my 2 backup partions are all over the place, I would like to make win xp partion d: and 2 backup partions e: and f:

i think you should format and start again......
XP without IE? didn't think that was even possible......................... -
I second that, got to have it nice and neat fresh installs, update the OS's and drivers, then ghost your computer so when this kind of stuff happens again just pop in your ghost disc and bring it back to the fresh install (backup what you need to first of course)Originally Posted by flaninacupboard

I fixed the first one my modifying boot.ini and the second by going to add remove windows component.
Still working on 3rd...... -
Go to settings....control panel....system.
Click on the advanced tab, there should be a option called 'startup and recovery' if so, click settings.
There you will find an optin to edit the startup options. Click on the 'edit' button, and it will open a notpad file called 'boot'
Simply remove the line with the OS or OS's that you no longer have.We'll be right back after these messages from Binford! -
