When I'm trying to back up my DVD with DVD Shrink 3.2 I am wondering why I cannot select the Backup Quality Settings: Perform deep analysis before backup to improve quality. Why is it invisible?
I have some Menus and Extras at Custom Ratio and others on Automatic. I did it earlier with the same DVD and it had the option available, but when I went to do adjustments to burn the same DVD again, the option was not available.
Can someone please let me know how to get back the option in the Backup Quality Settings so that it becomes available?
Thanks[/b]

It's already been scanned and the analysis information is stored, if I'm not mistaken.

Or, the original DVD is not a dual-layer disc, and therefore doesn't need to be analyzed or compressed to fit on a consumer DVD-/+R

I did backup this DVD once and it had this selection available, but when I did it a second time it didn't have the selection available anymore.
So not sure if it is related to the fact that DVD shrink analyzed the DVD the first time?? -
It is indeed - if you go to File and select Deep Analysis, it will tell you that DVD Shrink does not need to do it, as it has already performed it.

DVD Shrink does a superficial analysis when you load a disk into it to check for compliance. It keeps the results of the current disk in cache somewhere, so if you have to load the same disk again, it wont take as long (note: it only keeps one disk at a time in cache).
Deep Analysis results for the current disk appear also to be stored, again for only a single disk. This does not stop you having access to the check box.
The only time I have seen the check boxes be locked off is when, after removing unneeded langauges and subs, and replacing unneeded footage with a black still, the compression comes down to 100%
You say you did this one, and got the settings, then when you did it a second time you did not. The second time, did you use the original disk, or the backup you had already shrunk ?Read my blog here.

In my experience, it is only necessary to perform deep analysis once on a disc. The option is then greyed-out during all future attempts to shrink the disc, as it has already been performed.
