  1. What program could I use to edit a menu that is on a DVD, I have already ripped the DVD onto my hard drive.

Have yet to do DVD menu editing, so still a beginner at it.

    Thanks,

It depends what type of editing you want to do. There are programs around that will allow you to change (to a degree) what the buttons do on an existing menu, and even add new buttons, however these do not affect the video or images. Many menus have the text of buttons embedded in the video background, and have overlays for the buttons. You might be able to change the overlay, but the base button is in the video and would require a lot of work to change.

The general consensus seems to be that it is not worth the ffort, and it is usually easier to create a new menu instead.

  3. for basic editing like removing buttons, try MenuEdit. I haven't personally used it and it cost's money to buy so i'm not sure what's it like.

Remake can also disable buttons and remove the overlay, however if the button is embedded in the image or motion video, you cannot remove it with simple tools.

  5. Unfortunately the image are inlayed on the actual menu it seems, so how difficult would it be to get rid of them?

To get rid of them, you would have to

    1. demux the menus so you have video and audio streams

    2. Load the video into a compositing program and carefully paint out the menu text by hand, replacing it with the missing background

    3. Load the cleaned video into an authoring program, and recreate the menus from scratcht o look like the originals

    4. Wonder if all this work was worth it, unless you were planning to sell the doctored disk as an original
